Assam: Divided by competition, United by the Rally!

GUWAHATI, DEC 17: The Tea City of India is buzzing with the chirps of excitement for the upcoming JSB Car Rally to be held on Dec 18. The rally season is in full swing!
Teams from across Assam are coming in to witness and participate in this thrilling event. One team from Jharkhand and one Lady team from Dimapur has also joined the rally.

The organising team and the participating teams are both seen working very hard.

There is a hustle-bustle in the entire town! Participants are spotted practicing mornings & evenings! Each participant want to outwit the other, decorating their cars, getting their dress ready and making sure that, to be the best no stone is unturned.

Even the Organising Team under the able leadership of Ajit Bajaj is walking the entire mile to ensure that the participants get a rally holistic experience! They are on their toes from last 2 months.

The routes have been taken extra care of. From last five days, Sandeep Chamarria – the Safety Officer with Krishna Bhartia personally led a team of workers to scout & survey the roads.They mapped out 140 km’s to check for potholes and cracked and uneven roads.

This survey was conducted keeping in mind the safety of all participants which includes female drivers also! Archit Harlalka and Nikunj Harlalka from team JSB and Sandeep Chamaria and Neeraj Goenka are going through the routes to give the finishing touches.
Sandip Kedia is taking care of all the forms, all the records and requirements of the participants, he is working hard to make sure that all the documentation are perfect.

Rohit Killa is giving his best to ensure all the I-Cards are done with no mistakes, also taking care of all the stationary and required ground works. Sunil Agarwal our chief marshal is ready with his team to ensure safe rally. Any participants doing anything wrong will be on his mercy.

Rajan Lohia has created an interesting new route at Manohari for rally. It’s work is going on from last 1 month. He is very excited to host everyone at Manohari The tea retreat. To energise our participants and the organisers Sajjan Harlalka is taking care to food.

On Dec 16th the technical team of FMSCI and Justs Sportz also arrived and are making sure that the routes are perfect and the participants can enjoy the rally at the most. On 17 a pre-event/ briefing was done from 1 pm at the Govt boys high school field. All the documents and the rallying cars were scrutinised by the technical team of FMSCI. Car numbers were allotted and all the queries and doubts were cleared. Total 71 cars are cleared who will compete today starting at 7:30 am from the same venue.

The Chief guest to flag off the cars is honourable Major General Vikash Lakhera SM, IGAR(North), from Kohima along with him Brigadier K S Gill from 73 Mount Brigade Laipuli will also grace the occasion. Col. John from Gharwal Regiment, Digboi and Col. R P singh from 5 Madras Regiment Dibrugarh will also join hands during the flag off.

There’s no denying that motorsport is a male-dominated sport. But there’s no shortage of talented, resolute women who have proved that racing sees no gender. And this time our Ladies from Dibrugarh, Assam are proving it!
Let’s see who these women win over the men! Looks like they are going to give a tough competition.
This rally is organised by Lions club of Brahmaputra Valley in association with Just Sportz and is sponsored by JSB Infrastructures. Lion Ashok jalan president and Lion Avnish Kanoi secretary of the club is totally making sure that the rally goes at its best by coordinating and giving responsibilities to the members.

Closing ceremony and prize giving will take place today evening at the same field. The trophies are specially made from Muradabad and will be given to all the crew members of wining team along with the cash prize. It is surely going to be an eventful and safe competition!
