Assam: Clash breaks out between AAP members and toll gate personnel, police resort to lathi-charge to control situation

GUWAHATI, NOV 6:  A calsh broke out between the members of the Aam Aasmi Party (AAP) and toll gate authorities at Bajali district in Assam on Sunday.

The clash broke out when members of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) staged a protest against the toll gate authorities at Golia near Bhawanipur in Bajali district of Assam on Sunday.

According to reports, the toll gate authorities allegedly attacked the AAP protestors.

Later, when the situation seemed to be getting out of control, the police resorted to lathi-charge.

The AAP protestors, claiming that the toll gate at Golia in Bajali district of Assam is illegal, demanded it be demolished.

“The toll gate at Golai is illegal. We demand that it should be demolished immediately. Today, we are protesting against the toll gate at Golai the toll gate authorities attacked us,” alleged a protester of AAP.

However, the AAP has been trying to create a political space in Assam by launching scatting attack on the ruling BJP.
