Love letter from Modi government’s favourite agency’: AAP gets notice from ED Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal

New Delhi: The Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was on Monday served a notice from the Enforcement Directorate.

Taking a potshot at the Narendra Modi government, the Delhi’s ruling party in a tweet said that they received a notice by “Modi Govt’s favourite agency — Enforcement Directorate”.

Calling the notice a “love letter” from the central probe agency, AAP spokesperson Raghav Chadha said that he will address a media briefing today afternoon, to “expose the political witchhunt of AAP by a rattled BJP”.

“In a first, AAP receives a love letter from Modi Government’s favorite agency – the Enforcement Directorate. I will address an important press conference today, 1.30 pm at AAP Headquarters in Delhi – to expose the political witch hunt of AAP by a rattled BJP,” Chadha tweeted.

Several opposition parties have repeatedly accused the BJP-led Centre of using the central probe agencies like CBI and ED to suppress its opponents and intimidate its critics.

NCP president Sharad Pawar recently alleged that the government is using the ED to “subdue” opposition parties across the country.

“Of late the (Union) government seems to be using this agency to subdue the opposition. This is happening not only in Maharashtra, but also in Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and in some southern states too,” he had said.

The AAP is set to contest next year’s Assembly polls in Punjab and Uttar Pradesh against the BJP, in an attempt to expand its national footprints
