In a shocking incident raising questions on women safety in Mumbai, a shirtless man who appeared intoxicated harassed a female passenger during her drive back home in an autorickshaw. The incident took place around 7 PM on Saturday as her vehicle stopped at a traffic signal in Bandra. This man approached her auto asking for food, but she ignored him. He turned dramatic later.
The woman recorded a video of the ruckus he created on the city street and posted it on X, drawing the attention of Mumbai Police. The visuals showed him screaming at her and spitting down while walking on the pavement.
Sharing the clip online, the lady mentioned he misbehaved with her at the signal. According to the X post, the ‘drunk’ man grabbed her thigh and commented on her short dress, suggesting such clothes are reason behind he getting harassed.

“Poore kapde pehen (Wear full clothes)…”
“A random drunkard/beggar comes up to my auto & asks me for food, which i ignore. out of nowhere, he slides his hand into the auto and GRABS MY THIGH, and says “khana de na”. He started screaming at me, saying things along the likes of “Wear full clothes if you don’t want to be touched, this is India, i can do whatever i want to you” (translated from hindi)”, the woman wrote, narrating the ordeal on X.
In the short video, the man was heard screaming, “…Mujhe, mujhe aisa nahi chua”, before spitting on the street.
Even when the signal turned green and the auto started, the woman feared if he would chase her or jump into the vehicle to create a further scene.
“Thankfully the signal turned green, i was super scared of this man either jumping into my auto, or following me home”, she posted.
