Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh’s Indore has added yet another accolade to its name. After being celebrated for its achievements in cleanliness and as a Smart City, Indore has now been internationally recognised as a ‘Wetland City.’
This global status was granted based on the city’s efforts in preserving Ramsar-certified wetlands. The award was presented during a ceremony at Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, by Dr Musonda Mumba, Secretary General of the Convention on Wetlands.
It was received on behalf of India by Dr Sujit Kumar Bajpayee, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.
