Holi 2025: ‘Save Water & Avoid Noise Pollution’ BMC Issues Public Appeal For Holika Dahan & Rangpanchami To Mumbaikars

Mumbai: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) issued a public appeal via X on Wednesday. In the post, they emphasized the importance of celebrating Holika Dahan and Rang Panchami in an environmentally friendly manner.

They encouraged Mumbaikars to celebrate an eco-friendly Holi and to save water during the festival. Additionally, the BMC urged Mumbaikars to avoid noise pollution during the celebrations.

In the X post BMC mentioned that by saying “Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation Public appeal While celebrating your festivals/festivals with joy, it is also important to take care of the environment and keep the Mumbai metropolis clean and healthy. Holika Dahan – Protecting the environment while preserving tradition

• Do not cut trees. Instead Holika dahan should be done in the traditional way using dry wood.

• Wood, plastic, rubber, tires and other hazardous materials dyed using chemical agents should not be used in Holi. Because the smoke and pollution generated from such elements are harmful to health.

• Housing societies, local group groups should burn Holika in a safe and environmentally friendly manner.

Embrace natural colors – safe and healthy festivals

• Use natural (herbal) and organic colors that are safe for the skin. This is especially important for young children.

• Artificial colors may contain chemicals and other heavy metals. It also harms health and water resources. So they should be avoided.
