Guwahati: Week-long Divya Kala Mela 2023 organized by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan) at Maniram Dewan Trade Center, Guwahati concluded on Wednesday.
The concluding ceremony was attended by the State Commissioner of Disability Sushma Hazarika.
Speaking at the occasion, R P Dubey, Chief Manager, NHFDC, expressed his gratitude to all the divyang participants who came from different states of India. There were many who had come to Assam for the first time.
He also thanked govt. of Assam for extending all possible help.
National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation, NHFDC, is the nodal agency for Divya Kala Melas which are scheduled to be held every month in different cities of the country.
Dr. Vineet Rana, GM, NHFDC was also present on the occasion.
Addressing the audience through video conferencing Naveen Shah CMD, NHFDC appreciated the efforts of divyangjan artisans for participating in Guwahati exhibition and shared that these exhibitions are an effort of the Government to make them swawlambi.
About 100 disabled artisans/artists and entrepreneurs from 21 states/UTs showcased their products and skills here.
Home decor and lifestyle, clothing, stationery and eco-friendly products, packaged food and organic products, toys and gifts, personal Accessories like jewelry, bags etc. were displayed and were also available for sale. Visitors could view and purchase products made by artists with disabilities through their tremendous determination and sheer grit.
