Guwahati: Devotees who have come over from different parts of India to take blessings of Maa Kamakhya have complained about the mismanagement and sheer negligence of the temple authority.
Many devotees who were standing in queues for last 12-hours could not do darshan of Maa Kamakhya.
When OUR INDIA contacted with some of the devotees, they have complained about the mismanagement of the temple authority.
It has been found that many devotees were without food and water standing in queues but at last they were pushed by the bouncers to go back because the temple door was closed.
It has been learned tha many females devotees were manhandled by the bouncers in the last day of Ambubachi mela.
“We have come over from Delhi to take blessings of Maa Kamakhya but we are not given to the enter the temple after standing in queue for 12-hours. We are very much disappointed with temple authority and district administration,” said Kabita, a devotee come from Delhi.
She alleged, “For VVIPs their is a system and they can easily enter the temple premises but we common people could do so. They are charging Rs 1000 to Rs 2000 for entry into the temple.
The doors of the famous Kamakhya temple reopened on Monday after being closed for three days.
At the Kamakhya temple, the Ambubachi mela’s Nivritti is being performed on Monday.
Over 15 lakh devotees has come over from different places to take blessings of Maa Kamakhya but some to them to return back to their home with darshan of Maa Kamakhya.
This time the temple authority has handover the security arrangement to private agencies and these private agencies have involved in manhandled the devotees.
“We are very much upset with the arrangement. We have come from far flung areas to take blessings of Maa Kamakhya but we were not given to enter because before 4 pm, the temple authority closed down the doors of the temple,” alleged another devotee.
Speaking to OUR INDIA, Himadri Sarma, head priest of Kamakhya temple has admitted that this time they have appointed private agencies for security arrangements during Ambubachi mela.
“It is very difficult to managed the crowds during Ambubachi mela but we are trying hard to control it. Some people don’t understand the things,” he said.
